Bugaboo Stamps Challenge : Use your Patriotic Colours

This week's challenge theme at the Catch the Bug blog is to use your country's patriotic colours, and how lucky am I that South Africa's flag is so colourful!

My card features the Bugaboo Stamps image Zebra, that I merged with a digital image of our flag to (sort of) match up the stripes.  I didn't want them to match exactly as then he'd be invisible ...  LOL!

He's coloured using Copics and I used a white gel pen for the dots.   

 I rounded the corners using a punch and added a black s mat. 

 The sentiment is digital and there are bits of white twine to 'tie' it down.

Bugaboo Oldie But Goodie

Don't Step on a Bee!

Yesterday (June 10) was 'Don't Step on a Bee' Day and this is my DT project for Humor Me Wednesday at the Bugaboo Stamps Catch the Bug blog today.

My card features two merged images, Bee Flower,  and  Bee Butterflies  

that I coloured using Copics.

True Story ...

I don't know whether to blame old age or the fact that (a) our oldest son is getting married on 1 September, or (b) our first grandchild will be born at the end of October ..... but lately I seem to be having a problem remembering stuff.  So, I need a little book like this - hahahaha.

I covered a store bought lined notebook and used dp to cover it.  I used the Bugaboo image called JJ CRS - Can't Remember and coloured it using Copics 

 The background technique is distress ink-sponged with water droplets.

I added two flat back pearls and recycled an embellishment I got on a gift box recently.

Bugaboo's Freebie Friday

This week's freebie from Bugaboo Stamps is this cute bear that I used twice on my card.

The images are Copics coloured and the sentiment is digital.

The background is embossed cardstock, with inlays of diecut honeycomb segments.  I also used some large flat back pearls.

Summer Colours at The Outlawz

It's midwinter here in the Southern Hemisphere so it feels great to be playing with some warm colours today.

I googled 'summer sunsets' and came up with this mood board for myself:

I based my Copics colouring of this colouring page image on these colours, and used a white gel pen for some accents.

Use a Frame - The Outlawz

The Saturday challenge at The Outlawz is to use a frame, and this is my entry.

I used a colourig book image, and coloured with Copics and a white gel pen:

To create my card I used:

cream cardstock with a digital printed frame, o white I sewed sequins and beads

 I pasted acetate behind the frame and added a peel off sentiment

Festive Friday - The Outlawz

Friday's challenge at The Outlawz has a choice of themes, and I chose 'Anything Goes'

The image on my card is a colouring page that I sized down to fit onto a card, and I used Copocs and a white gel pen to colour it:

Paper Piecing

My card features an image from Bugaboo Stamps, called Jesse Boy Bear that I paper-pieced in its entirety

 Here are some tips for easy paper piecing
1.  Print mage onto white cardstock
2.  Print image onto patterned/coloured cardstock.
3.  Stick double sided tape on the back of the part of the coloured/patterned image you want to cut out, leave backing strip on.
4.  Cut out the part of the image you're using for piecing
3.  Run a black marker (at right angles) round the cut edges to hide any white paper still showing
4.  Remove backing strips from tape and stick onto the image on the white cardstock
Suggestion : it's best to colour your image first, then do the paper piecing
